Location of Ångermanälven

The Ångermanälven is a river in northern Sweden. It is 490 km long and the largest river in Sweden.

The main source of the river Ångermanälven forms of Ransarån. Are several large hydropower plants on its course. When port Nyland, the river expands to a 37 km long bay. The Ångermanälven opens north of Härnösand in the Gulf of Bothnia, a bay of the Baltic Sea. It is part of the European Route 4 Important tributaries are Vojmån, Fjällsjöälven and Faxälven.
