Angie Stone
Angie Stone ( born January 30, 1961 in Columbia, South Carolina; actually Angela Laverne Brown) is an American hip hop, R & B and soul singer.
Career
Stone became famous for the first time in the early 80s as a member of the hip- hop group The Sequence. The band was one of the first female groups of their genre and could end up in 1980 with " Funk You Up" a hit. Later, Angie Stone joined the R & B trio Vertical Hold. Further success came with the single " Seems You're Much Too Busy".
1999 Stone appeared with the release of their album Black Diamond for the first time as a solo singer in appearance. The CD achieved modest success, was for the refurbishment Ol'School stylistic elements and their vocal critics, however, praised and even honored with a Grammy nomination. After changing her record company followed under J Records 2001 Mahogany Soul and 2004 finally Stone Love. Since November 2005, also is their best-of album Stone Hits commercially available.
