Angkor Airways was a Cambodian airline based in Phnom Penh.

History

Angkor Airways was founded in 2004 with the support of Taiwanese Far East Air Transport ( "FAT" ) and adopted in the same year the flight operations. The aim was to Siem Reap airport to use as close to a transit station for flights between Taiwan and the People's Republic of China, as direct flights to the political status of Taiwan were prohibited. In addition, the company also offered charter flights to South and East Asia. All aircraft were powered by FAT as wetlease.

In 2008, the Angkor Airways had to stop due to financial difficulties of the parent company flight operations.

Objectives

From the base of the Siem Reap - Angkor Airport, the airline offered to national and continental scheduled flights; this lead, inter alia to Taiwan and Japan.
