Anglesey Abbey

Anglesey Abbey is a manor house on the site of a former abbey in Lode, 9 km northeast of Cambridge, England. The former owner 1st Baron Fairhaven has renovated the house and decorated its interior with a valuable collection of furniture, paintings and art objects. The house and the base now belong to the National Trust and are largely publicly.

The 400,000 m2 large park-like site is divided into several walking paths and gardens with classic statues, topiary hedges and flower beds. The park was the last private landowner, the 1st Baron Fairhaven, created in the 1930s in the style of the 18th century. From a large lake, it is believed that is located on the site of an old Koprolith pit. The water mill of Lode was restored in 1982 and now sells flour to visitors.
