The Anglo -Français de petite Vénerie is recognized by the FCI breed from France ( FCI group 6, section 1.2, Standard No. 325).

Name

The " Petite Vénerie " is the " Small or Small Game ". Loosely translated, means Anglo -Français de petite so Vénerie: " ... for the small hunting ".

Origin and History

The breed originated from numerous intersections, such as Beagle with Harriern, Petit Bleu de Gascogne Beagle and Briquet or Poitevin were crossed with Bleu de Gascogne and Porcelaine. All specimens were relatively small, had English and French hounds blood and were good rabbit hunter. In 1957 in France, a first recognition of the breed. However, the elaborate standard demanded a clean separation between Beagle and Anglo -Français. This race has been unified, so it was in 1978 recognized by the FCI.

Description

The Anglo -Français de petite Vénerie is a typical French hunting dog with English blood - a running dog for small game hunting. The height at withers according to the breed standard 48-56 cm with a tolerance of two centimeters up or down with excellent dogs. The hair is hunting dog typically short, smooth and dense. The dog's back is strong and straight. The chest is deep, reaching at least to the elbow and the belly is pretty "full" and a little raised. The head is well rounded. The ears are set below eye line narrow, soft, slightly screwed, moderately broad and wide reaching at least to two fingers to his nose approach. The eyes are quite deep, the snout is tapered.

The Anglo -Français de petite Vénerie is grown in three color varieties. Most common are the Tricolors, and there are black-and- white and white-orange specimens.

Nature

The Anglo -Français de petite Vénerie are reserved, working a willing dog that is easy to perform both as a fighter and as a companion dog.

Use

The Anglo -Français de petite Vénerie was originally used for hunting hares, now used to it and in the rabbit, deer and fox hunting. Less frequently it is found also in the wild boar hunt. He hunts track loud and persistent.
