ANGOP

Agência Angola Press abbreviated ANGOP, the official news agency of Angola. Its shape is that of a corporation. It is a company with its own legal personality, administrative and financial autonomy.

The ANGOP was Agência Nacional as Angola Press ( ANAP ), founded in July 1975 in the capital, Luanda. Since October of the same year took over ANGOP, at the suggestion of then-President Agostinho Neto, its present and final name " Agência Angola Press" and will start on 30th of the month under the new symbol. The first message appeared on 30 October 1975 in the form of a bulletin. ANGOP has five branches abroad (Portugal, Brazil, United Kingdom, Zimbabwe and Congo ), enjoys autonomy and editorial independence, according to the laws of the Angolan state. Director General and Head of the State Agency is Manuel da Conceição.

The goal of ANGOP is exclusive to gather news in Angola and abroad, to process and disseminate nationally and internationally. The messages are disseminated through electronic networking via the Internet or e -mail. Major international news agencies such as Thomson Reuters, Associated Press, Agence France-Presse and others use ANGOP as an information source and each maintain partnerships. The ANGOP was in the years 1990 and 1992 with the award " International Gold Star for Quality", which is awarded by Business Initiative Directions. Also received the agency in 1996 " World Quality Commitment Award " by JX BAN Image Art, both companies have their headquarters in Madrid.
