The Puente de Angostura is a road bridge over the Orinoco River in Venezuela in Ciudad Bolívar. She was the first bridge over the Orinoco and has the largest wingspan of all bridges in South America.

Name

The name of the bridge is reminiscent of the earlier name of the city, 1764 at a narrow point of the Orinoco as Santo Tomé de Guayana de la Angostura del Orinoco: located (about Saint Thomas of Guiana at the constriction of the Orinoco ) and 1846 in honor of the national hero Simón Bolívar was renamed Ciudad Bolívar.

Location

Description

History
