Angra Pequena

The Lüderitz, called by the Portuguese explorers Angra Pequena (, Small bay ') is a bay in the South Atlantic near the seaport town of Lüderitz in the south-western African republic of Namibia. The Lüderitz is open to the Atlantic Ocean to the north and north-west and is bordered to the southwest and west by the Lüderitz Peninsula. Extreme headlands of the Peninsula are the Angra - tip and the Diaz Cross.

The so-called Shark Bay (part of Lüderitz ) is between the African mainland and the offshore Shark Iceland (formerly Shark Island ), thereby forming a natural harbor (Robert Harbour). Other islands in the Lüderitz are the seal and penguin island and the small island of Flamingo. The first two islands will be counted among the Penguin Islands, which, starting from the Lüderitz still 220 km north and 140 km to the south along the Namibian coast extend.
