Ångström (crater)

Angstrom is a small impact crater on the moon northwestern front in the plane of Oceanus Procellarum. To the south rise the Harbinger Mountains and the rolling hills of Prince Rimae over the surface of the moon ocean. To the east lie the hills of the dorsum of booking and dorsum Argand. To the west lies the crater warrior.

The circular, bowl -shaped crater has an internal floor area without significant characteristics. The rim is interrupted by some small strikes. The sloping interior walls have a higher albedo than the surrounding Mary.

The crater was named in 1935 by the IAU by the Swedish physicist Anders Jonas Ångström. The official name is, deviating from the usual spelling of the name, not " Angstrom " but " Angstrom ".
