Anif declaration

The Anifer explanation was the birth of the Bavarian officials and soldiers from the oath of allegiance to the King by King Ludwig III. It took place after the proclamation of the State of Bavaria on 12 November 1918 Anif Castle in Salzburg and was announced on 13 November in Munich.

History

King Ludwig III. was given the revolution in Bavaria at first, then eventually fled to the castle gamekeeper at the Hintersee in Ramsau near Berchtesgaden and by Austria to the castle Anif near Salzburg, since neither in Munich, still at Castle gamekeeper or Hintersee the safety of the king was assured. The Anifer castle was owned by the Bavarian Imperial Council Ernst Graf von Moy.

Ludwig III. ordered on 12 November 1918, former Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Otto von Dandl to his castle Anif near Salzburg. Dandl demanded the abdication of the king. To this end, Ludwig was not ready. He gave birth to this day, the Bavarian officials and soldiers of the contributions made on him allegiance because he was no longer able to lead the government on. With this declaration Anifer Dandl returned on 13 November 1918 after Munich. The new Bavarian government, Kurt Eisner published this statement on November 13, 1918 together with an explanation, in which it took note of the " abdication " of the king. In fact, neither the king nor other members of the house of Wittelsbach has ever renounced the Bavarian throne.

The original document is now lost.
