Animal Kingdom (Band)

Animal Kingdom is an indie rock trio from South London, UK. While studying at a London art school learned Sauberlich Richard ( singer, guitarist and pianist ) the bassist Hamish Crombie know. When the two shortly afterwards made ​​the acquaintance of drummer Geoff Lea, the group was complete, and the musicians signed in 2008 a contract with Warner Records.

In early 2009 the band recorded their first album in Seattle Signs and Wonders. It was produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Walkmen ). The debut received positive reviews. Although it only digitally released in the U.S., iTunes made ​​the song "Tin Man" for single of the week and appointed Animal Kingdom Best New Alternative Band. To the album release around the band toured extensively throughout the UK.

2009 Animal Kingdom accompanied the British band Snow Patrol at their Take Back the Cities Tour as the opening act.

After the change to Universal Music Group in 2011, they took in an old, converted to a recording studio, church in North London new songs. In the home studio of her producers David Kosten (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything), the band presented the album The Looking Away in Summer 2012 ready. Then she went to open for Maxïmo Park on a European tour.
