Anita Stewart

Anita Stewart, actually Anna May Stewart ( born February 7, 1895 in Brooklyn, New York, † May 4, 1961 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actress. She was a very busy actress of the silent film era. With the advent of the talkies her career ended quickly.

Life

Anita Stewart began her career in 1911 at the film studio Vitagraph, where she rose quickly becoming a popular star of the day. In 1917 she was by marrying his brother to sister in law of the then well-known film director Ralph Ince. 1918 Stewart accepted a financially lucrative offer and moved to Louis B. Mayer Pictures. Louis B. Mayer as succeeded in entering the film production, having been operating successfully own cinema chains. For a time, Anita Stewart produced their films through a separate unit that Anita Stewart Productions, within the studio. Their popularity increased as early as the mid- decade and their active career was finally ended completely by the advent of the talkies. The actress has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the height of 6724 Hollywood Boulevard.
