Anita Valen

Anita Valen de Vries ( born December 12, 1968 in Porsgrunn ) is a former Norwegian cyclist.

In 1985, Anita Valen three times Norwegian champion in the road race, individual time trials and team time trial. Shortly before the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she suffered an accident, then stepped back from power cycling, pausing about 13 years.

In 2000, Anita Valen had their comeback, won in the same year the Tour de Bretagne in 2002 and two-time Norwegian champion in the road race and in the criterion. Overall, they won in the course of her career 14 national titles. The UCI Road World Championships 2004 in Verona, she took third place in the road race. Twice - in 2004 and 2008 - they started at the Olympic Games; Athens 2004 she was 14th in the road race.

Anita Valen de Vries is married to the Dutch cyclist Gerrit de Vries, her sister is also successful cyclist Monica Valvik - Valen.
