Anke Baier

Anke Baier- Loef, nee Baier, ( May 22nd, 1972 in Eisenach ) is a former German speed skater.

Career

Anke Baier- Loef began her athletic career in the field of athletics, but changed in 1985 at the instigation of their future coach Stephan Gneupel for speed skating. She has been awarded 1991 Junior World Champion in Calgary and in the same year with the title Junior Athlete of the Year.

Anke Baier- Loef participated in the Winter Olympic Games in 1992, 1994 and 1998. After she had in 1992 occupies the 9th place about 1000 m and the 10th place on 500 m in Albertville won Baier- Loef, under her birth name Baier with 80 points 9th place in the overall ranking of the 500-meter in 1993 Distance occupied, at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer silver medal in the 1000 m.
