Ann Christy (singer)

Ann Christy ( born September 22, 1945 in Antwerp, Flanders, † August 7, 1984 in Meise, Flanders; actually Christiane Leenaerts ) was a Belgian singer and musical actress.

Life

Leenaerts began her musical career as a singer in the band The Adams. Mid-1960s, she released her first single. Kussen onder rainbow, a Dutch version of the song Kisses Under the Rainbow by Manuela was not a commercial success. At this time she met her future manager Robert Bylois. In the following years she performed mainly French songs and accompanied Salvatore Adamo on tour in France. In 1968 she won the singing competition Knokke Cup.
