Ann Marie Buerkle

Ann Marie Buerkle ( born May 8, 1951 in Auburn, New York) is an American politician. From 2011 to 2013 she acted as the New York State Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Ann Marie Colella, so her maiden name, was trained by her schooling to become a nurse. She graduated in 1972, the St. Joseph 's Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse. Subsequently, she worked for many years in their profession. In 1994, she completed a law degree from Syracuse University. In the meantime, she had graduated in 1977 include Le Moyne College in Syracuse. Politically, she became a member of the Republican Party. In the years 1994 and 1995 she served on the city council of Syracuse; 1997 to 2010 she was Assistant Attorney General of the State of New York.

In the congressional elections of 2010 Buerkle in the 25th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where they succeeded the previously defeated their Democrat Dan Maffei on January 3, 2011. In the 2012 election he stepped in again for his former seat and won, so Ann Marie Buerkle on January 3, 2013 resigned from their mandate. In Congress, she was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Veterans Committee. In September 2011 she was appointed to the American delegates at the 66th General Assembly of the United Nations.

After her retirement from Congress Buerkle has been proposed and confirmed by the Senate for a highly paid jobs in the nationwide Consumer Protection ( Consumer Product Safety Commission ); however, it has let them know that this is not meant the end of their political careers, and that they did not rule out a third clash with Dan Maffei in the congressional elections of 2014.

Ann Marie Buerkle is divorced and has six grown children.
