Ann Morgan Guilbert

Ann Morgan Guilbert ( born October 16, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota ) is an American actress.

Career

Ann Guilbert gained notoriety in the 1960s when American audiences with her role of Millie in the Dick Van Dyke Show. Other appearances in television shows such as The New Andy Griffith Show and The Boys Fellini followed.

In addition to her television work, Ann Guilbert played in many regional theaters. They also took over the government for some productions. Among other things, she appeared in the plays Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett with, Fifth of July by Lanford Wilson, The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder and The Vilhelm Moberg Emigraters. In 1994, she was also with its own one-woman show An Evening with Ann Guilbert on stage.

In Germany, the actress is best known for her portrayal of quirky grandmother of Fran Drescher Yetta Rosenberg in the sitcom The Nanny. After the end of the series, Guilbert drew largely gone into retirement and only appeared sporadically in public.

However, the actress returned to the stage in 2005 and played on the side of Jill Clayburgh and Richard Thomas in the play A Naked Girl on the Appian Way Richard Greenberg.

In the series The Nanny Ann Guilbert Haide Lorenz and later by actress Ingeborg Lapsien was synchronized.

Private life

Ann Guilbert was married from 1953 to 1966 with producer George Eckstein. The couple has two daughters, Professor Nora Eckstein and actress Hallie Todd. Guilbert now lives in Pacific Palisades in California.
