Ann Wauters

Ann Wauters ( born October 12, 1980 in Sint -Niklaas, Belgium) is a professional basketball player. In 2012 she plays for the Seattle Storm in the Women's National Basketball Association. She is the first born in Belgium WNBA player.

Career

Europe

The 195 -cm center player was from 1995 to 1998 in their home country with Osiris Aalst active and then moved to France to U.S. Valenciennes Olympique, where she stood for six years under contract. Since 2004, she goes for the Russian club CSKA Samara on baskets hunting.

Women's National Basketball Association

Wauters was selected by the Cleveland Rockers in the first place in the WNBA Draft 2000. Wauters played three seasons for the Rockers. When the Celveland Rockers were disbanded after the 2003 season, she was selected Dispersal Draft by the New York Liberty in the fourth position. Wauters played from 2004 to 2005 for the Liberty. Then she left the WNBA for the time being indefinitely to recover from the exertions of the last years and to the Belgian national basketball team to make the jump to the 2008 Olympic Games. In February 2008 she returned to the WNBA. On February 6, 2008, she was selected by the Atlanta Dream in the expansion draft. On 9 April 2008 the legend Wauters, More Nike Atunrase and a second-round pick in the WNBA Draft in 2009 transferred to the San Antonio Silver Stars for Camille Little, Chioma Nnamaka and a first-round pick in the WNBA Draft 2009.

National

At the European Championships in Italy in 2007, she was the player with the most points total scored (177 ) and the most goals points per game ( 19.7 ).
