Anna Eshoo

Anna Eshoo ( born December 13, 1942 in New Britain, Connecticut) is an American politician who represents the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1993.

Career

Anna Georges, so her maiden name, worked 1963-1966 for the Aluminum Company of America ( Alcoa) and 1966-1970 for the Arcata National Corporation. Then she attended until 1975, the Cañada College in Redwood City ( California). At the same time she began a career in politics as a member of the Democratic Party. Between 1980 and 1992 she served on the Democratic National Committee. In the years 1981 and 1982 she was Assistant to the President of the California State Assembly. From 1983 to 1992, she was sitting in the County Council of San Mateo County; in 1986 she was the President. In 1982, she was appointed to the Federal Commission for determining the Democratic presidential candidates ( Democratic National Commission on Presidential Nomination ).

1988 candidate Anna Eshoo still unsuccessfully for Congress. In the congressional elections of 1992, but it was then in the 14th electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where they became the successor of John Doolittle on January 3, 1993.
