Anna Hegner

Anna Hegner ( born March 1, 1881 in Basel, † February 3, 1963 in Basel) was Swiss violinist, composer and music educator.

Anna Hegner came from a respected family of musicians and was known as violin soloist, particularly in Basel, Berlin, Leipzig and London. She lived and worked for some time in Frankfurt am Main, among other things, she was the violin teacher of Paul Hindemith. From 1908 lived and she lived in Munich stone and organized concerts in the Catholic Church, in which she also appeared as a soloist, and summer concerts woods behind her house in the Münchensteinerstrasse gorge.

She died in 1963 at the Clara - hospital from the effects of an accident. Shortly after her death, her devoted their residential community of Munich stone Anna Hegner - road and long time Anna Hegner was the only woman to be honored in the Basel area with a road.
