Anna Jantar

Anna Jantar ( born June 10, 1950 in Poznan, † March 14, 1980 in Warsaw) was a Polish pop singer.

Life

Jantar was born as Anna Maria Szmeterling and went through high school in Poznan to school. In 1969 she passed the entrance examination to the state Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw, was not included due to lack of places. Your singing career began 1968. 1969 she performed with the band Waganci in which also starred her future husband Jarosław Kukulski. The two married in 1971. Their daughter Natalia Kukulska is one of the most popular Polish pop singers. According to a study singing, she started her pop career in 1972 and 1973 took her stage name Anna Jantar (Polish Jantar = raw amber ) on. She quickly became one of the most popular pop singers in Poland in the 1970s and won numerous prizes at national and international pop festival.

On March 14, 1980 Anna Jantar was on a flight back from New York in a plane crash at the LOT- flight LO 007 just before landing at Chopin airport in Warsaw killed. The crash of the Ilyushin Il -62 " Mikołaj Kopernik " (SP- LAA), in which, among other things, many U.S. Representatives boxing died were a total of 77 passengers and 10 crew members died.
