Anna Lopukhina

Anna Petrovna Lopukhina, Russian Анна Петровна Лопухина (* November 8, 1777, † April 25, 1805 in Turin ) came from a Russia of the oldest noble families.

Among the most famous family members included Lopukhina Eudoxia, first wife of Tsar Peter I the Great, and the disgraced Natalia Lopukhina. Anna was the mistress of Tsar Paul I of Russia.

Biography

Anna lost her mother early and was brought together with her siblings from their grandmother to Moscow. 1796 she met on a dance over the Tsar Paul I ( 1754-1801 ) know and love. Anna was sponsored by the courtiers as an aid to the influence of Empress Maria Feodorovna (1759-1828) and Tsar Paul paid her family out with honors and offices. Anna was smart enough to meet the wife of the Tsar, Maria Feodorovna respectful. It is still unclear whether the Tsarina felt offended by the existence of a mistress, or whether it was realistic enough to accept the fact.

In 1799, she asked for permission to marry him the Prince Pavel Gagarin, an old friend of the Tsar. On the night of March 23, 1801 Tsar Paul I was strangled in an attack by conspirators from circles of the aristocracy, after he had refused to sign his abdication. Anna and her husband went to Turin, where he was appointed ambassador. She died on 25 April 1805 in Turin from tuberculosis and was buried in the Alexander Nevsky Monastery.
