Anna Lühring

Anna Lühring ( Johanna Lühring ) ( born August 3, 1796 in Bremen, † August 25, 1866 in Hamburg ) (referred to as partially incorrect Lührmann ) was a Prussian soldier time, a German celebrity.

Biography

The daughter of a master carpenter Bremer enthusiastic about after the invasion Tettenborns in Bremen and the death of Eleonore Prochaska for the liberation wars. In the men's clothes of her brother she left on February 13, 1814 Bremen. Then performed under the name Edward Kruse before Jülich in the Lützow Free Corps. In this she took part in the siege of Jülich and several smaller skirmishes. After becoming aware of their true identity, they nevertheless remained until their return to Berlin with the troops. She was honored for her contribution and returned in February 1815 back to her parents' house.

1821 she married Karl Lucks from Altona. This was in 1827 in Hamburg citizens. 1832, after the death of her husband, she lived lonely and impoverished in Horn. From 1860, she received from her hometown of Bremen a small pension for her services.

Her grave is in the Old hammer cemetery in Hamburg- Hamm.

Honors

  • The Anna Lühring Road and the Anna Lühring pathway in Bremen, District Eastern suburbs were named after her in 1938.
  • The Anna- Lühring Lane in Hamburg-Horn was named after her.
