Anna Maria Strada

Anna Maria Strada del Pò (* Bergamo; † uncertain in Bergamo ) was an Italian soprano in the first half of the 18th century and known 1719-1741, mainly in connection with their work in London and its participation in many operas Georg Friedrich Handel.

She began her career in Italy and sang and Others in Venice - in Vivaldi's opera La verità in cimento (1720 ) - Milan and Livorno. Handel hired the Strada in 1729 for his second opera academy. There she first sang the Adelaide in his opera Lothario, and was henceforth Handel Primadonna series in all its Opere and oratorios in 1737. They also sang the Angelica in Orlando, the title role of Partenope, the Elmira in Sosarme, Tusnelda in Arminio and Arianna in Giustino. She was the only one of the leading singers of the Royal Academy, which is not defected in 1733 to rival Opera of the Nobility.

Anna Strada left London in 1738 and returned to Italy, where they occurred in Naples ( here together with their London colleagues Senesino ) and Turin, but then in 1741 returned to her home town of Bergamo.
