Anna Sipos

Together with Mária Mednyánszky dominated Anna Sipos 1926-1933, both nationally and internationally with the ladies. 1929 to 1931 had Sipos at the World Cup, even with the 2nd or 3rd place behind Mednyánszky content, but 1932 was the changing of the guard: Sipos won the individual World Championship, Mednyánszky came 2nd. This sequence was repeated at the next World Cup in 1933.

The same pattern was evident in the Hungarian National Championships: From 1926 to 1935 won either Sipos (4 times ) or Mednyánszky (6 times) the title.

Overall Sipos won 21 medals at the World Championships, including 11 gold medals.

By 1932, Sipos held - the first woman - the bat in penholder attitude, according to the 1932 World Cup, she moved to - in the Western world normal - shakehand style. Some critics say that this was their game considerably stronger.
