Anna Zatonskih

Anna Zatonskih (Ukrainian: Анна Затонських / Anna Satonskych; born July 17, 1978 in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast ) is a Ukrainian- American chess player.

Life

At the age of five years Anna Zatonskih learned chess from her parents, two strong chess players. Her father Vitaly ( * 1949 ) is a FIDE Master. In 2002 she moved to Ohio, in 2005, she moved to Long Iceland. She is married and has a daughter (* 2007), the Latvian- German chess Grandmaster Daniel Fridman.

Chess success

The multiple Ukrainian Junior Champion won the Ukrainian Women's Championship in 2001 and 2002., The U.S. Women's Championship she won in 2006 in San Diego, 2008 in Tulsa, as well as 2009 and 2011 in St. Louis.

With the Ukrainian national team, she took in 1999 and 2001 European Women's Championships in part. 1999 in Batumi Ukraine won a bronze medal and she won a silver medal for their result of 5.5 out of 7 on the second board as well as a bronze medal for their Elo performance of 2569. You also played in seven Chess Olympiads. 2000 in Istanbul, she reached with the Ukrainian national team on board Two fourth, 2002 in Bled on board Three sixth place. For the U.S. women's national team played in 2004 in Calvià on board Two and helped the team to the first silver medal in this event, which has been held since 1957. In Turin in 2006 landed the U.S. with Zatonskih on board one on the fourth and 2008 in Dresden, where she played on board two, on the third place. There she also received an individual gold medal for her score of 8 out of 10

At the 2nd European Club Cup for Women in 1997 in Rijeka she finished with the team Grandmaster School Kiev the third place. She was third again, this time on top board of the association Danko -Donbass. She has played for HMC Calder Den Bosch in the Dutch League 1, formerly of Ans and in the 2008 /09 season which they won the team championship in Belgium for the chess friends Wirtz field. In Belarus, she plays for the chess club EPAM. In the 2007 /08 season she played for the first time for a German club, and indeed for the second team of SV Mülheim- Nord in the North Rhine- Westphalian Oberliga (3rd league). In the German Bundesliga woman she plays from the season 2008/ 09 for the OSG Baden -Baden, with whom she was 13 champion team in the season 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012 /. From the 2009/10 season she played in the men in the Oberliga NRW and 2nd League West for the Bochum SV.

She wears since 1999 the title woman grandmaster and since July 2004, in addition the title International Master of men. Your current and previous highest Elo rating is 2537 (as of May 2011), making it the best active player in the U.S. and is together with Nana Dsagnidse on the shared sixth place in the women's world rankings.
