Annales Cambriae

The Annales Cambriae, the Annals of Wales, are a medieval chronicle, which cover the period 445-977, with entries 453-954. It was later continued until the late 13th century.

Although the year from other sources vary in part, the persons mentioned are largely historically verifiable. However, there are two entries that refer to Arthur, resulting in earlier times a proof of its real existence has been derived, although the Annals were written until several hundred years after the alleged events. In any case, the history of Britain in the beginning of the Early Middle Ages is very problematic.
