Annamaria Cancellieri

Anna Maria Cancellieri ( born October 22, 1943 in Rome) is an Italian non-party politician. From November 2011 to April 2013 she was Italian Minister of the Interior in the cabinet Monti, then until February 2014 Minister of Justice in the government Letta. It was preceded by the reputation of being " la risolvaproblemi " ("the problem solver ").

She studied political science, appeared in 1972 in the service of the Interior Ministry and was first appointed Prefect 1993. The 109 Italian provinces have a prefecture, which is headed by a prefect, who is responsible for safety and order, respectively. Cancellieri initiated during their careers through five of these prefectures, namely in Catania, Genoa, Vicenza, Bergamo and Brescia. In addition, it was the acting head the communities of Parma ( March to May in 1994 and from October to November 2011) and Bologna (February 2010 - May 2011).

She was retired since 2009 when Mario Monti appointed her as minister. In April 2013, it was considered a potential candidate of the bourgeois camp for the Italian state presidency.

Anna Maria Cancellieri, who grew up in the former Italian colony of Libya, is married, mother of two and grandmother.
