Annapolis County, Nova Scotia

Annapolis County is a county in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia ( Nova Scotia ). It lies in the west of the province, county seat is Annapolis Royal. The 3188.48 km ² large administrative unit in 2011 had 20,756 inhabitants with a population density of 6.5 inhabitants / km ². She has share in Kejimkujik National Park and is connected by the Nova Scotia Highway 101 to the rest of the transport network.

History

Annapolis County was established on August 17, 1759 and named after the town of Annapolis Royal. 1833 became known proposals for the allocation of the county in 1837 led to the elimination of Digby County.

Communities

Annapolis County includes the Towns Annapolis Royal, Bridgetown and Middleton and the Indian Reserves 6 and Bear River Bear River 6B. All other settlements are part of the Municipality of the County of Annapolis, which does not have its own administration.
