Anne Cuneo

Anne Cuneo ( born September 6, 1936 in Paris ) is a Swiss writer and director. She now lives in Zurich.

Life

Anne Cuneo was born to Italian parents in 1936 in Paris. After the outbreak of the Second World War left the family moved to France and Milan.

After her father died in 1945, she spent her childhood in various orphanages in Italy. In 1950, she entered the French-speaking Lausanne. She then spent some time in London, where she learned the English language almost as their third language. Back in Lausanne, she studied at the University English, Italian and history. Upon graduating in 1964, she taught language courses. From 1973, she worked in various positions at Swiss Television.

Her first work, she published 1967 ( Gravé au diamond). Add a pinch of blue (1979) and in the two-volume portrait of the author as an ordinary woman (1980 and 1982 ), it pushed autobiographical apart with their breast cancer and their immigration to Switzerland.

The 1998 published detective novel Heart of iron was the first case for the private investigator working Maria Machiavelli. This was followed by oblivion is Gold ( 1999), Lisa Smile (2000) and Hotel heartbeat ( 2004).

In addition to her literary and journalistic work, she worked for the theater and the movie. From their fascination with these arts evidenced by numerous essays about Le Piano du pauvre (1975 ), La Machine Fantaisie (1976 ), Le Monde des forains (1985) and Benno Besson et Hamlet ( 1987). In the novels about Francis Tregian (1993 ), Emilia Bassano ( Mistress Shakespeare aka Dark Lady) (1996 ) and John Florio (2011), she described the lives of three people in England during the Elizabethan era. Another historical novel she wrote about Antoine Augereau ( 2004).

Your first documentary she made in 1980 along with Lucienne Lanaz and Erich Liebi, in which the role of women in the Swiss film newsreel (1945 - 1980) will be discussed.
