Anne Hamilton, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton

Anne Hamilton, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton ( * January 1632, † October 17, 1716 in Hamilton), was a Scottish nobleman.

Life

Anne was the only surviving child of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Hamilton and his wife Margaret Fielding. She followed in 1651 her uncle William as 3rd Duchess of Hamilton in its own right. 1698 renounced all titles.

Progeny

She had been married in 1660 to William Douglas, Earl of Selkirk, of the heiress adopted the name Douglas-Hamilton as a result of his marriage and the Duke of Hamilton was. The couple had the following children:
