Anne Neville

Anne Neville ( born June 11, 1456 Warwick Castle, † March 16, 1485 ) was the daughter of Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick and Anne Beauchamp.

In December 1470 she married as a pawn of the new alliance between Neville and the Lancasters Edward of Westminster, as the son of Henry VI. and Margaret of Anjou, Prince of Wales. Whether the marriage was consummated, is debatable. Edward already fell in the Battle of Tewkesbury on 4 May 1471.

1472 she married Richard, Duke of Gloucester, later King Richard III. , Son of Richard Plantagenet, 3rd Duke of York, and Cecily Neville, daughter of Ralph Neville, 1st Earl of Westmorland. Anne was anointed and crowned on July 6, 1483, together with her husband, in Westminster Abbey. The marriage comes a son, Edward of Middleham.
