Anne Zouroudi

Anne Zouroudi (* 1959 in Lincolnshire ) is an English writer.

Life

Zouroudi was born in Lincolnshire, but was already two years with her family to South Yorkshire. She grew up near the Pennine Way and attended school at the Sheffield High School for Girls.

After her studies she worked in the IT industry; only in the Financial District of New York (Wall Street ), later she moved to Denver ( Colorado) and worked for various investment companies. From this period Zouroudis first attempts at writing; most part still short stories.

On the occasion of a holiday on a Greek island Zouroudi was immediately enthusiastic about the country. She later married a Greek and had with him a son. Currently (2013 ) lives Zouroudi with her son in Derbyshire.

Reception

Inspired by the landscape of the Greek islands, Zouroudi began to incorporate them into their short stories. The stories of their protagonists ' Hermes Diaktoros " soon grew into a novel cycle, the individual volumes have been highly praised in appearance from the audience as well as critics.

In addition to the criminal cases, the Hermes, educate Diaktoros, the seven volumes of this series thematize each also one of the seven deadly sins: "The messenger of Athens " ( lust ), "The taint of Midas " ( greed ), "The Doctor of Thessaly " ( envy ), " The Lady of sorrows " ( wrath ), "The whispers of Nemesis " ( pride ), "The bull of Mithros " ( laziness ) and " The Feast of Arthemis " ( gluttony ).
