Annemiek van Vleuten

Annemiek van Vleuten ( born October 8, 1982 in Vleuten ) is a Dutch cyclist.

It was not until 24 years Annemiek van Vleuten came to power cycling. In 2008 she was at the University Road World Championships in Nijmegen second in the individual time trial and third in the road race. In 2010 she won the Route du France Féminine and finished seventh overall in the Giro della Toscana Femminile. In 2011 she won the Tour of Flanders, the Open de Suède Vårgårda and the Grand Prix de Plouay and thus decided the overall standings of the World Cup women's cycling for themselves.

Since 2009 van Vleuten runs for the team Nederland bloeit (name since 2012: Stichting Rabo Women Cycling Team ), for even her compatriot and multiple world champion Marianne Vos will start. In 2011 she was elected in her place of residence Wageningen "Sportswoman of the Year".
