Annette Dasch

Annette Dasch ( born March 24, 1976 in Berlin ) is a German opera, concert and lieder singer with the voice soprano.

Biography and artistic work

Annette Dasch comes from a musical family. Her mother Renate Dasch is a voice teacher and singer, and her three siblings (Katrin, John, Peter ) are musicians. Annette began singing as a child in vocal ensembles, left after high school in 1995 at Arndt -Gymnasium Dahlem their hometown Berlin. First, she wanted to be clarinetist, this project was then but for a vocal studies at the Academy of Music in Munich under Josef Loibl. 1998/99 she attended the class in addition to musical and dramatic presentation at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and master classes with Philip Schulze, Wolfram Rieger and Helmut German.

Her international career began in 2000 with the victory in three major singing competitions: the Maria Callas Competition in Barcelona, the Robert Schumann Lieder Competition in Zwickau (1st prize and gold medal in solo singing, ladies) and the Concours de Genève in Geneva.

This was followed by engagements with the MDR Symphony Orchestra and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, further in opera houses at home and abroad, including Montpellier, Bonn, Antwerp, Dresden, Berlin, Tokyo, Stockholm, Brussels, Munich, Paris and Milan. Among her currently most important roles as Pamina ( Die Zauberflöte), Fiordiligi ( Così fan tutte ), the Liù ( Turandot ), Antonia ( The Tales of Hoffmann ), Gretel ( Hansel and Gretel ), Freia ( Das Rheingold ), the Goose Girl ( Royal Children ), Donna Elvira ( Don Giovanni), Elektra ( Idomeneo ), the Poppea ( the Coronation of Poppea ). On the New York Metropolitan Opera in 2009 she made her debut as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro.

At the Salzburg Festival she sang in 2006 in Mozart's opera Il re pastore, 2007 Armida by Joseph Haydn and 2008 Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni. At the reopening ceremony of the Cuvilliés Theatre in Munich on 14 June 2008, she sang on the side of Juliane Banse, John Mark Ainsley, Rainer Trost and Anna Fleischer the Elettra in Idomeneo - new production of Dieter Dorn. At the Bayreuth Festival, she debuted on July 25, 2010 as Elsa in Wagner's Lohengrin, directed by Hans New Rock, conducted by Andris Nelsons.

Annette Dasch is also active as a song, oratorio and concert singer.

So far, the soprano has worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Ivor Bolton, Sir Simon Rattle, Marek Janowski, Seiji Ozawa, Nikolaus Harnoncourt or Fabio Luisi. It is designed as an exclusive artist with Sony BMG contract.

Since 2008, she hosted her own music talk show Annette Dasch Salon, the (now ZDFkultur ) and will be broadcast on 3sat since 2009 ZDFtheaterkanal. On March 19, 2010, she was a guest presenter at 3 after 9, the talk show of Radio Bremen.

In July 2011, Dasch married the Austrian baritone Daniel Schmutzhard. In February 2012, their child was born.
