Annette Klug

Annette Klug ( born January 24, 1969 in Singen am Hohentwiel ) is a former German fencer from the Federal Republic of Germany, the 1988 Olympic gold medalist with the team.

The fencer from FC Tauberbischofsheim was 1986 German junior champion. In 1988, she finished the World Cup tournament in Turin in second place. In the internal selection process for a place in the German Olympic team in 1988 she won against the team world champion from 1985 Susanne Lang.

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Anja Fichtel, Sabine construction and Zita radio Hauser won three medals in the individual standings. In the team competition, these three fencers were set so that, Annette Klug entered the preliminary round against the United States and the United Kingdom, winning only two of their five battles. From the quarter- finals so the nearly seven years older Christiane Weber came back into the team. Fichtel, construction, radio Hauser and Weber sat down during the remaining tournament sovereign, and finally won the final against Italy. For their use in the preliminary round Annette Klug received the Olympic gold medal.
