Annette Rogers

Annette Rogers ( born October 2, 1913 in Chicago, † November 8, 2006 in Des Plaines, Illinois) was an American track and field athlete and Olympic champion.

Career

Rogers was both a sprinter and high jumper. In the U.S. Indoor Championships she won in 1933 and 1936, the gold medal in the high jump. Also at the U.S. Indoor Championships she won in 1933 and 1936 gold medal in the 200 -meter run.

At the Olympic Games 1932 in Los Angeles, she won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay along with teammates Mary Carew, Evelyn Furtsch and Wilhelmina von Bremen before the teams from Canada and the United Kingdom. At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936, she won again the team gold medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay along with teammates Harriet Bland, Betty Robinson and Helen Stephens in front of the team from the United Kingdom and Canada.

Annette Rogers was the last living Athletics Olympic champion of 1936. She died on 8 November 2006.
