Annie Palmen

Annie palms ( born August 19, 1926 in IJmuiden, † January 15, 2000 in Beverwijk, actually Anna Maria palms) was a Dutch singer.

Palms began her musical career at the age of 15 years as a singer of a Hawaiian Orchestra. After that, she was a member of a Cowboy Trio and sang at a dance orchestra in Haarlem. Winning a talent contest of the Dutch radio station KRO in 1948 opened the door to numerous radio appearances in TV stations VARA, AVRO and KRO. 1958 she succeeded to the title Ik zal per nooit sea vergeten a first Hiterfolg.

In 1960, she took first at Nationaal Song Festival, the Dutch preliminary decision for the Euro Vision Song Contest. Like Rudi Carrell, she performed with the song Wat een geluk, the jury gave its competitors but the preference. Three years later, she was chosen by the organizing television station as the only candidate for the national preliminary round, in which then the value written by Pieter Goemans title Een Speeldoos was declared the winner. Then the Euro Vision Song Contest on March 23, 1963 in London, she had to because of a dispute without the Dutch orchestra musicians compete and remained together with the contributions from Finland, Norway and Sweden without point.

In September 1967, she rang the television series De Boertjes van Buuten (CRO) in a new phase of her career. The program director Kees Schilperoort palms had asked to take over as successor by Annie de Reuver the role of Drika, the singing peasant girl. Palm was initially reluctant out of fear of losing their popularity. However, their performances were a great success. 1969 reached the published album for sending gold status. When the show was set in 1972, came the End of career for palm trees.
