Annika Becker

Annika Becker ( born November 12, 1981 in Rotenburg ad Fulda ) is a German track and field athlete in the pole vault and the long jump.

Annika Becker grew up in the district Bebra Weiterode.

In 1997 she won the European Junior Championship in Ljubljana. In the Junior European Championships in 1998 in Riga, she won the silver medal. Becker trained at LAC Erfurt and stopped with 4.77 m of 7 July 2002 and on 12 July 2011 the German record in the pole vault. 2001 and 2002 they won the German Championship.

At the 2003 World Championships she won the silver medal in the pole vault behind the Russian Svetlana Feofanowa ( gold ) and before the Russian Yelena Isinbayeva (bronze). After a serious training accident, when the rod broke during the jump, she ended her career in 2004 as a pole vaulter. They then moved up the sport, reaching in the long jump at the German Championships 2005 in the hall of the third and sixth place in the open air.
