Annington Homes

Annington Homes is the largest private housing companies in the UK. It was founded in 1996 by the Japanese Nomura Bank to acquire around 40,000 houses and apartments of the armed forces in the course of privatization of the British Ministry of Defence. As long as these were still needed as a service accommodations, these were leased back to the Department of Defense ( "buy and lease back "). Vacant residential properties were sold to private interests. With the support of the London real estate private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners was commissioned.

After this " pattern " rose Nomura Bank and Terra Firma 2001 in the German real estate market, where 11 railway housing associations by the Federal Railroad assets were acquired with a total of 65,000 dwellings. The apartments have been preserved as " corporate social institution" as needed. From this and from further purchases the German Annington Real Estate Group was formed.
