Anno 1503 and the multiplayer mode

Anno 1503 should have a multiplayer mode, which, however, was never officially released due to extensive design errors and resulting technical problems. Harsh criticism had the developers in this regard Plug mainly because immediately after the release of the game the free retrofitting a functional multiplayer mode was assured. After over a year of development work on the multiplayer mode, but were then adjusted. Originally gave the developers of multiplayer API DirectX, Direct Play the blame. This was supposedly not cope with the heavy traffic of Anno 1503. Thereupon own multiplayer engine was developed, but even that failed. A development of the multi- player mode is included but in add-on monsters, treasures and pirates, another in the version on the DVD booklet - Computer Bild Spiele, where it can be released each with a few simple steps. The same applies to the Ubisoft newly launched King Edition ( Exclusive Gold Edition ).
