Status

BirdLife International classifies the Annobón White-eye with a stock 1000-2500 copies as endangered ( vulnerable ). The biggest threat are random events, such as storms or fires due to the tiny Artareals. Whether habitat changes such as the installation of fruit plantations, oil palm plantations and sugar cane plantations threaten the existence is unclear, since the nature colonizes the plantations and also many of these plantations have now been abandoned.
