Anscarids

The House of Burgundy - Ivrea was a family of European aristocracy, originally native to Burgundy and in the female line the Great, descended from 9th played a prominent role of the Carolingians, especially Karl until the mid-16th century.

The history of the House of Burgundy - Ivrea is divided into four main sections:

  • The Marquis of Ivrea 879-1030
  • The Count of Burgundy ( Franche -Comté ) 995-1184 and ( in the line Chalon ) 1248-1330
  • The kings of Castile and Leon 1126-1369 ( including the German King Alfonso of Castile )
  • (under the name House Chalon ) the Prince of Orange 1417-1530
  • A bastard branch of the family continued as house Trastámara continues the line of the kings of Castile and Leon, and later also of Aragon, Sicily and Naples.

  • Philibert de Chalon († 1530), whose son, Prince of Orange, the last male descendant of the house of Chalon- Arlay. He adopted Renatus, the son of his sister Claudia, by all rights went to the Ottonian line of the House of Nassau.
