Anselm Franz

Anselm Franz (born 21 January 1900 in Schladming, Austria, † November 18, 1994 in Bridgeport (Connecticut) ) was the Director of Advanced Turbomachinery the Junkers aircraft and engine plants from 1939 to 1942, he was instrumental in developing the first. production-ready jet engine, the Jumo 004, involved, which was used for example by the jet fighter Messerschmitt Me 262 and the reconnaissance and bomber Arado Ar 234.

After the end of World War II Anselm Franz went to the USA to continue his research there in his projects and ideas. Before he retired, he was Vice Chairman of AVCO Lycoming.
