Anselmo Fernandez

Anselmo Fernandez Rodriguez ( born August 21, 1918 in Lisbon, † 19 January 2000 in Madrid) was a Portuguese architect and football coach. Life

The Spanish -born Anselmo Fernandez began at the age of 16 years, a footballer career at Sporting Lisbon, but which he soon had to retire for health reasons. From the age of 27, he dedicated himself to the rugby at Sporting, where he developed into an excellent referee.

In the following years he became a successful architect. His first major work was the 1955 completed within one year Estádio José Alvalade, which he built together with António Augusto Sá da Costa.
