Anstruther

Anstruther ( Enster on Scots, Eanstar in Gaelic ) is a town with 3500 inhabitants in the Scottish region of Fife. Anstruther consists of the parts Anstruther Easter, Anstruther Wester and Kilrenny. Eastern and western part are separated by the creek Dreel Burn. In addition, the village of Cellardyke easternmost part of the site. Anstruther is located about 15 kilometers southeast of St Andrews and is the largest community in the East Neuk, the north coast of the Firth of Forth. It is believed that Anstruther has a long history. Archaeological investigations and other evidence points to connections to the Picts and the early Christian Church.

Originally a fishing village and today the site of the Scottish Fisheries Museum, tourism is now the main industry dar. So many pleasure boats are in port, there is a golf course present and planned a recreation center.
