Antal Dunai

Antal Dunai, Antal Dunai Dujmov and II ( born March 21, 1943 in Gara, Hungary ) is a former Hungarian football player and football coach.

Club career

Dunai began at the age of ten years at Bajai Bácska Posztó in his hometown with organized football and moved in 1961 to the then first division Pécsi Doja SC, where he made his league debut and in his first season already finished sixth in the scoring charts. In the following years he was one of the most successful attackers in the league, but the Pécs came about places in the middle of the Hungarian championship and not go so Dunai moved in 1965 to Újpesti Dózsa SC, where he played alongside the star striker Ferenc Bene.

1967 was the Budapest take the title of runner- and Dunai was with 36 gates not only Hungarian scorer, but also the most successful striker in Europe ( being awarded the Golden Boot, however, was denied him, as this was not introduced until 1968). In the following year, Újpest had the Ferencvárosi Torna Club in a close defeat, however set with 102 gates the best attack of the league and with Dunai, Bene László Fazekas and also the three top scorers. 1969 was the Violet finally win the league title and reach the final in Messestädtecup where you failed at Newcastle United.

In the following years Újpest belonged to the Hungarian football and took until 1975 seven championship titles and three cup victories. In 1977, Dunai the club and was still two years at Debreceni Vasutas SC worked before he 1979/80 still working on it hung a season when unterklassigen Budapest district club Chinoin SC. In the end, he was cleared and played abroad in 1981, a little at the Austrian second division 1 Simmering SC.

National team

Dunai belonged to the Hungarian selection, who took part in the Olympic Games in Mexico and with a 4-1 victory against Bulgaria won the gold medal, where it was used in all matches, scoring six goals.

His first try in the national team in an official international match Dunai had in May 1969 against Czechoslovakia, where he immediately scored a goal. In the following years he belonged to the tribe list of the national team and also appeared regularly as a scorer in appearance.

In 1972 he again participated with the Hungarians in the Olympic Games and reached the final again, where the Magyars but this time failed due to the Polish national football team. Again Dunai came in all games for use and scoring seven goals, which he took second place in the scoring charts behind the Polish legend Kazimierz Deyna and on par with Joachim Streich from the GDR.

His last game for Hungary, he played in 1973 against East Germany. Overall, he came up with 31 inserts and nine goals.

Coaching career

After having worked at Újpest at youth level, Dunai began his coaching career in Spain, where he worked in the 1980s Deportivo Xerez, Real Betis, CD Castellón, Real Murcia and Levante UD. Between his Spanish stations he had once worked as a coach at FC Zalaegerszegi TE in the home. In 1991, he finally returned to Hungary and trained the Veszprémi SE, before he took over the Hungarian Olympic team and 1996 for the Olympic Games led to Atlanta where you any points, however, was eliminated in the group stage.

After another as a trainer in Debrecen, he was responsible at the Hungarian Association for the youth teams and had simultaneously held a leading post in the Ministry of Sport. In 2006 he became Vice- President of the Hungarian Football Federation, responsible for technical matters. He is also a member of the technical- scientific committee of the Hungarian NOC.
