Antal Majnek

Antal Majnek OFM ( born November 18, 1951 in Budapest) is a Hungarian priest and bishop of Mukachevo.

Life

Antal Majnek joined the Congregation of the Franciscan ( OFM) and received on 17 April 1982, the ordination. John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 9 December 1995 in Transcarpathia and Titular Bishop of Febiana.

He received his episcopal consecration, the Pope personally on 6 January of the next year; Co-consecrators were Giovanni Battista Re, substitute of the Secretariat of State, and Jorge María Mejía, secretary of the Congregation for Bishops and the College of Cardinals.

As a motto he chose Deus Fortitude Mea. On October 7, 1997, he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Transcarpathia. With the elevation to the bishopric on 27 March 2002 he was appointed Bishop of Mukachevo.
