Anterior intercostal branches of internal thoracic artery

The anterior intercostal arteries ( anterior intercostal artery singular, " anterior intercostal artery " ) are bilateral segmental arteries of the chest wall. In animal anatomy, they are called ventral intercostal arteries. The intercostal arteries of the upper six intercostal spaces arise when people from the internal thoracic artery, the other from the artery musculophrenic.

Pro intercostal two front intercostal arteries are usually formed in humans. A pulls, along with the same vein and nerve, the lower edge of each rib along, the second at the upper margin of the rib episode. They supply the muscles and skin thereby of the corresponding intercostal space. Towards the back they anastomose with the posterior intercostal arteries.
