Anterior tibial artery
The anterior tibial artery ( " anterior tibial artery " ) - called with animals cranial tibial artery - is an artery of the leg. It is next to the rear shin artery ( posterior tibial artery ) is one of two main branches of the popliteal artery ( popliteal artery ).
The anterior tibial artery passes in front of the lower leg muscles in the direction of ankle and outputs several branches from:
- Recurrent posterior tibial artery
- Recurrent anterior tibial artery
- Muscular branches
- Malleolar artery anterior medial
- Malleolar artery anterior lateralis
- Left circumflex fibular
From the ankle flexion, the continuation of the artery known as Fußrückenarterie (arteria dorsalis pedis), which assumes the main part of the blood supply to the foot.
